Is the Big Airtek intercooler perhaps blocking the radiator too much, thereby causing overheating issues.

i see you still ran a plastic coolant tank, despite all your track days. did you ever consider one of the alloy header tanks on the market?

No more videos? i just sold my mk7 FiST and bought another modified Mk7 FiST with 72XXXkm on the clock.. I don't like the Mk8 at all and plus here in Australia we only get the 5 door one.. Yuck!

Great to see how HPTuner works, I was thinking of getting it because HPTuner ships from Europe and I noticed LP sells the remote tune with the same dongle (but branded). Could avoid customs if I got the dongle in europe and get just the map from LP. So my question is, are any of the bigger tunners' maps available in the HPTune ecosystem using their credits? Will Collins Performance iflash maps files work with HPTuner?

Would you recommend this cooler as a slightly cheaper option to Airtec? Especially now because Airtec have risen in price :)

Hi Steve on the rear springs to you need the rubber bump stop and that plastic spring thing ? I brought some gaz ones and unsure if you need these with that kit.

Nice, but you forgot the basic main rule.. The car has to be on a 100% leveled surface with all 4 wheels to get a camber reading, your car is for sure tilted in whatever direction if it's there at your parking lot.. for people who want to do this, go to a water leveled floor in a garage, or a parking garage and take a spirit level to cross check the floor you are standing on to start with, same applies to headlight adjustment.

I just tried this but with the app Bubble Level because it has 10ths of degrees and seemed pretty accurate. I found a car park with a polished concrete floor (makes everyone’s tyres squeak) and it flat as a pancake and showed 0.0 on the app. I drove to a parking place that I could drive dead straight into and to be sure I reversed out 50 meters and then forward again 3 times without touching the wheel to be sure the wheels were straight ahead. I measured both front wheels 4 times and got -1.6 and -1.9 which I find is out for standard settings. The car doesn’t scrub tyres on the inner edges at all so I’m surprised ive got readings that are double what they should be. The reason I am checking is because my drivers side hub has recently been off and I was worried it wasn’t set back up correctly. Now I’m pondering if app is accurate but I do like the idea of using an app.

I have tried doing the same but face thefollowing issue. because of water pressure, water keeps flowing from the tank to the spray nozzles and wont stop untill it is out of water. thought it would be the nozzles (spray jets) but you have used the same in the video. is there any chance you remember if you have done something in order to stop water from leaking? thank you

Where did u get the small gasket from

The snap over- and understeer can be to the diff responding to loading and unloading. My car does it too. I've tried alot of suspension settings and it appears to be a characteristic of a mechanical locking diff. You have to get used to the car being pulled into the turn once the diff grabs. It can be quite intrusive until you work around it with driving technique. At least that's how it is for me with a Quaife helical diff. I wish we had a track like that in the lower US. It seams like the only tracks we have here in this area are for drag racing and Nascar, neither of which I'm into.

At second glance it looks to be ABS based on the residue on Steve's finger. If you use a good quality cyanoacrylic resin glue, it should glue just fine with ABS.

If its made from common ABS, super glue would glue it just fine and actually be very strong. The trick is to prep the surfaces very well. 3m Seam sealer also is great, as is specially plastic epoxy.

I usually do multi port ethanol injection on my engines using a water injection setup. Before this I'd run 44k top end cleaner, which is very effective but its rough on the oil. You have to change it right after the treatment. I have a Radium catch can setup which collects a bit between changes. The beauty of DI engines is they can be a little leaner at WOT. I aim for 12.5 at WOT which includes the injected ethanol O2 content.

In the aviation industry, you lose a screw or a 10mm, you’re looking at a downed aircraft. Never let that screw go, especially on a turbo car, their intakes are just as sensitive to FOD (foreign object damage) as jet engines!

This is why everyone who owns a car like this needs to understand how to read a datalog, so they can tell if theres an issue. Tuners don't usually care because its not their own car. The BCS is a common issue on these cars. They fail due to excess heat, which is a huge issue in a climate like ours in Arizona. Closing the throttle is a sure sign of ECU's last resort to control over boost. The only other scenarios which are normal for less throttle being commanded is for torque management, preignition and over temp throttle scaling to limit power. I keep a spare BCS on hand because of how common failures of these are. I have relocated mine away from the hot exhaust area and used high temp. Thick walled silicone hose. This makes response time of solenoid quicker. The stock BPV is also a problem under high boost, as it usually leaks. The new GFB BPV responds much cleaner and smoother.

From an aesthetic perspective do you think intercoolers look better black on the St180? Or is it more so a case of that you don't care about the look because unpainted intercoolers are more efficient?

My car is a 1.6 Sport in 2012 and there is no turbo.. is it possible if I want to put in a turbo sir..

I was just about to add that there are 3 bolts! How do I know? I just replaced the radiator on mine (not an easy job) if you have an intercooler! Good idea re the cabletie so as not to lock the bonnet!
